Lights of Christmas - Warm Beach

What a busy week and weekend we had, but so many smiles and experiences!!! We met our friends near Standwood at the Lights of Christmas to see over a million lights and enjoy all the park has to offer. It was soooo great to have everyone together! This was our first time going here and I am excited to return!!! As you will see below, Terrace was not so sure about Santa though she was fine with waving and high fives - and loves candy canes!

not so sure...

not ok!

Jingle Bell Run/Walk

On Saturday, we participated in the Bellingham Jingle Bell Run/Walk. Brad ran the 4 miles while TJ and I walked the 2 miles with Crystal and Jaiden. It was such a gorgeous and COLD morning....it was around 32 but warmed up when were surrounded by all the participants and then even more while walking. Terrace was so excited about her first candy cane and she ate it so quickly. Brad was only 40 seconds behind his goal and we all can't wait to do it again next year!

Stoney Ridge Farm

Diane and I had a great day on Thursday while Brad was at work. We had a nice breakfast at the cafe in birch bay, hung out at the water, and after TJ's nap, we went out to Stoney Ridge Farm to walk around, pick out an ornament, and eat some pie. What a beautiful day and it was so nice to walk around and see how different it was without all the pumpkins during the halloween season. Later that afternoon we started a new tradition of creating/decorating an ornament....she had fun with some of my markers. Everyone was sad to see Diane go and hopefully we were see her soon again!

Aunt Diane visits!

Aunt Diane was here for a GREAT visit last week. We took our time driving back up after picking her up. On Tuesday we went to library time, to a coin shop and then to pick out a tree. Diane tried to stay warm, though we were both prepared in our boots for the mud. Terrace has enjoyed the tree, taking off the balls and other ornaments, and touching the lights!

Snow!!!

We got our first snow last week and what fun. We did not go out in it the first day bc TJ got really sick in my car (what a mess and NO FUN to clean up!). After breakfast with Jami I dressed TJ up and went outside. Terrace could not walk in the snow well at all bc she could not pick her feet up high enough and kept falling face first into the snow and her coat is so thick that she usually couldn't move her arms fast enough to catch herself either. She would smile and laugh after I helped her back up. It was pretty cold out so were only spent about 10 min out there and headed back in. The temp was around 25-30 most of the time and less than 24 hrs later it was over 50 degrees and raining. The last picture shows how much melted away 24 hrs after we were playing in it.

16 months

and never cuter! What a great little toddler Terrace is becoming. Yes, more and more attitude everyday but it is still mostly (70%) justified. She has so many words and we are realizing how many more she is trying to communicate to use that we don't understand (quacamole for example). The new words she spits out just amaze me; a few days ago it was Elmo that she saw at the outlet mall and yesterday it was a bike riding by....both of those words are not that common for us but she has picked up on them along the way.

She is more excited about coloring and loves to be outside. You can ask her to sing and she will start singing: row, row, row your boat OR twinkle, twinkle OR ring around the rosie. We have found that if you just sing the first verse of ring around the rosie over and over again she will spin until she falls down......makes us laugh so hard every time and then she laughs at herself. During mealtimes she wants to eat however we are eating (with a bowl instead of a plate or with a real spoon). She wants to help whenever she can, usually doing a pretty good job of cleaning up when asked, putting away dishes, turning off tv or lights when leaving the house, and wiping up spills.

What a smart, curious, funny, sweet daughter she is.....what a blessing! You are soooo loved!

Such a fashionable little girl....jk

She has gotten used to looking in the drains to see the water if any in there.

Thanksgiving!

So much to be thankful for and I just felt so great to be surrounded with friends and family. Terrace and I went down south a few days early so I could see a couple of my friends for a game night. Then I helped my mom prepare food all day while TJ tried to help....take apart the kitchen that is! We had a wonderful dinner and great time with family. I got some gingerbread cookies to decorate which turned out to be a big hit. On Friday we had dinner with Brad (as he was still working nights on TH) and Jami! So glad Jami was with us.....she makes the best fruit salad and pies!!!
