Braeden is 4 months...

It can not be 4 months ago already that he was born! He is getting older whether we want him to or not :( I really wish I could bottle him up and keep him at this age ( I know I will look back at this and will have changed my mind at some point). He has changed so much this last month and wants to be out where the action is. He still prefers to look and chat at us but is enjoying toys more and more. B started about 3 weeks ago getting his hands to his mouth occasionally and usually just one hand would make it in, then it was both hands in his mouth and now it is either hand or just fingers ALWAYS in his mouth. He is also grabbing at toys with more success and "talking" so much. We can also get him to laugh which just makes us melt. We have seen him roll over a couple times but I think it was mostly by accident.

We had his 4 month check up a little early and he was 14 lbs and 25 inches long. His weight dropped from 75% down to 40% and I talked with the doctor about my milk supply and she gave me some suggestions. I am really enjoying nursing Braeden and don't want to stop but have not been producing enough milk. I had a lactation consultant come out to the house and she was such a great help. I found out I am not producing even close to what Braeden needs so we have been giving him a lot more formula the last couple days. His tummy must be pretty small though bc he is spitting up a lot more so we are adjusting. I am taking supplements and pumping as well to try to get my supply back up. Braeden has always been pretty content but we can tell he is even more content now, especially in the car. The nurse will be back in a week or so which will be great to check in with her again. So far, everything is going pretty well but it is alot of work to nurse, give him more formula, and pump (and entertain TJ). I feel like we have lost our schedule but most importantly he is getting enough to eat. We will wait to start cereal :)

Braeden we LOVE YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!! some recent pictures..

Terrace turns 3

Terrace was able to choose what she wanted to do for her birthday. We started early in the morning with Terrace helping me make berry pancakes and then onto gifts. She got a doll house, scooter, palm palms and puzzles - she seems to equally like everything. Then we were off for a 17 passenger ferry boat ride around the Blaine/ Semihamoo harbor and saw two turn of the century sail boats (one from Pirates of the Caribbean), eagles, and harbor seals. We then went fishing (all of 10 minutes) at Lake Padden and swimming. She is very comfortable in open water now with her life jacket on. Then, after a nap we went to a dinner location of her choice. We let her bring one friend. She wanted to eat at Chihuhua's Mexican (great restaurant) and we brought her good friend Jaiden along. We had such a great time and she was so happy to be sung too and loved her churro's dessert!

Terrace (like all 2 yr olds) has changed so much this year. She is now 3 ft 2 inches tall and 31 lbs. Since turning three - she now believes that she is "bigger" which grants her rights to such things as driving, kindergarten, ect. She seems to be a natural leader and considerate of other children (as long as they are not challenging her authority). Her interests are: anything princess, dancing, soccer, swimming, puzzles, art. Her imagination is growing so much and it is great to listen in on during her independent play. She is pretty daring at parks, always wanting to be challenged. We enrolled her in a gymnastics class that she enjoyed and we were able to see her really watching the teachers steps and working hard to master them. She is currently in soccer which is so much fun to watch 3 and 4 yr olds run around trying to play. She is pushing boundaries alot lately and is more stubborn than at 2. We start preschool in a few weeks which will be great for everyone - she is very excited! As we have said so many times, Terrace makes us laugh on a daily basis and we just feel so blessed to call her our daughter! We are excited to see what 3's will bring...

Enjoying her scooter and palm palms..
